Cristalle Madray, MPH, PA-C was born and raised in Southern Maryland before going off to the University of Virginia where she received her bachelor’s degree in Global Public Health and Bioethics. She fell in love with Charlottesville and stayed to obtain her Masters of Public Health from the University of Virginia Medical School. Throughout her time at UVA, she was actively engaged in research within the UVA Health System, the Improving Pregnancy Outcomes Workgroup of the Virginia Department of Health, and the Early Childhood Funders Network in Charlottesville. Cristalle has published research on the postpartum period in the Journal of Perinatal Education which has been presented at the American Public Health Association’s Annual Conference, the largest public health conference in the nation, and served as the basis for public webinars and further research studies.
After completing her MPH, Cristalle returned to Southern Maryland and served as a Senior Community Health Specialist for the University of Maryland Medical System, during which she managed grants to fund postpartum care packages for low-income mothers, among other community health initiatives. These endeavors allowed her to integrate her public health interests with a focus on underserved populations.
Cristalle further advanced her education by achieving a Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Shenandoah University. While there, she was an AHEC Scholar and received the James A. Davis Award for Civility, Service and Leadership for her facilitation of pop up medical clinics at the local women’s and men’s shelters in partnership with the Winchester Rescue Mission.
Cristalle is a highly compassionate and competent provider who is dedicated to ensuring that her patients feel heard. Outside of being our newest Physician Assistant, Cristalle enjoys hiking, baking, and traveling.
